Malaya and British Borneo - Bank Notes

These are my favourite banknotes. I arrived in Singapore in 1961, and my pocket money was one Malaya and British Borneo Dollar. This was the first paper money had ever touched.

There was a 1953 issue that included $1, $5, $10, $50, $100, $1,000 and $10,000 notes. This was followed by a 1959 issue of $1 and $10 notes. The 1959 series did not feature the Queen, but instead showed very attractive rural Malayan scenes. All these notes remained in circulation until superceded by Malaysia, Singaporean and Brunei notes from 1967 onwards.
